Archon - Not much is well known about the Archon, no one is believed to have seen him for over a thousand years. No one even knows whether he truly even exists anymore. Historically the Archon was a man who became a war hero from the Battle of the Guardians, the hero by most accounts. Its is said that he single-handedly defeated the Guardians using his human allies as little more than a lure. Known to be a master among the Numeni, after the war he started leading people using prophecy. Nearly every prophecy he has made has been confirmed over the past hundreds of years. It is believed that through his Numeni skills he has managed to live for over a thousand years in seclusion, guarded by his Numeni amazons. Prophecies are still declared from his temple every few decades, though most modern prophecies have yet to be validated.

Atma - Term used to describe the energy one expends when using Numen.

Battle of Guardians - Ancient battle notable for its significance as the end of the dragon wars as well as the rise of the Archon as a significant figure due to his heroics in winning the battle.

Darha - A coastal city on the northeast edge of the Matria nation. Known for its management of a complex network of water-locks permitting trade routes to flourish in the inter coastal regions.

Numen - The act of materializing change to the present world using manipulation of the past and future simultaneously. The term is applied as a label on all supernatural abilities performed using limited prescient abilities. In the game, Numen are a system of materializing natural energy in different ways. Numen are combinable to achieve an endless number of different effects. While one combination of Numen could launch a firey attack, another could sap an enemy's strength, and another could render the player invisible. Numen are used in seamlessly and synchronously in conjunction with a player's other weapons.

Numeni - Technically a term used to describe any practitioner of Numen. In ancient times the term was often used as a title of reverence for the warrior caste, as most of the greatest warrior's were known to be master's of Numen. Its modern use is usually applied as a short-hand title for any member of the Numeni Order, but not always.

Numeni Order - An organized religion centered around the Numeni arts and unwavering loyalty to the Archon. The Order was originally established sometime after the Battle of Guardians around 800 PLS. Since that time the Order has grown into world-wide organization and a governing force in many countries. In modern times the Numeni Order has come under fire for its strictly conservative views towards the use of technology, which has reduced its member base in many of its fringe areas.

Matria - An age nation established and governed by Numeni theocracy around 800 PLS. Considered to be the capital of the Numeni Order, the Archon himself is host to an ancient temple there.

PLS (Post Lunar Shift) - The Lunar Shift refers to the appearance of a comet which appeared in the skies in ancient times. This comet barely missed impact with the planet but was moving slow enough to enter the planets' high lunar orbit. This comet became the planets second satellite moon that can be seen higher north with trails of debris in its wake. The orbit of this comet is slow enough to someday enter the planets atmosphere, but it is estimated to be several thousand years off, it is also estimated that the comet will completely break apart before that happens.

Technological Revolution - Common term used to describe the rapid advent of modern technology after 1900 PLS. Many people associate and credit the revolution to the Machindo Network, due to its heavy influence in technological development.
